Human rights lawyers on Thursday 21 March 2013 launched a fresh freedom bid for incarcerated top human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa by appealing in the High Court against Harare Provincial Magistrate Gofa’s dimissal of Beatrice’s bail application. The bail appeal will be heard on Friday 22 March 2013@09:00 am before Justice Musakwa.
On a related note, messages of solidarity are coming from different parts of the world. The International Bar Association issued a statement on 20 March calling for the immediate release of Beatrice Mtetwa:

@ 16: 00 hours: HARARE Provincial Magistrate, Marehwanazvo Gofa on Wednesday 20 March 2013 condemned prominent human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa to languish in prison after she dismissed her bail application together with that of four of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s aides. relaxinfo
@14:00 hours: Our lawyers have been in court this morning for the continuation of the bail hearing. The state responded to the application by the Defence by opposing the granting of bail. The ruling on the bail application has been adjourned to 15:00hrs Zimbabwe time. We will update on the developments soon thereafter.
@ 11:00 hours: Beatrice Mtetwa will appear in court at 11:15 am for the State to respond to her bail application.
