The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum conducted a series of Transitional Justice Public Forums in Masvingo, Matebeleland (North and South) and Midlands Provinces from 18 – 21 June 2012.
The Forum is of the view that, Zimbabwe’s transitional justice processes should be indigenous, victim-centered and, participatory (consultative in nature). Having said that the Public Fora are intended to promote discussion within the communities on relevant measures and methods for plausible ways of dealing with past human rights injustices and violations. The programme will also aim to provide ordinary Zimbabweans with basic information on what TJ is and what it means for their communities as well as addressing issues raised in the National Survey report from their regions.
The First public forum was held in Lupane, Matebeleland North Province on 18 June 2012. Please view the report here…Transitional Justice Public Forum in Lupane, Matebeleland North
