Girls’ access to education: a threatened right

Paper presented by the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum during the Women Forum Panel  “Giving girls the education they deserve “, on 29 November, 2014 during the 28th SESSION of the Africa, Caribbean, Pacific (ACP) EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, Strasbourg (France).The paper, which coincides with the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence discusses  general threats and obstacles that girls face when enrolling into educational programmes and above all, what prevents them from staying in school.
