This Bulletin talks about the right to know and have facts made available to the public. The right to access information is a human right protected by law in Zimbabwe, yet there is other legislation with which it conflicts. Thus, it is not always fully guaranteed and thus freedom of expression which is also an important part of international human rights treaties. A number of particularly prohibitive laws is identified (especially the Official Secrets Act and the Interception of Communication Act), as are recommendations given regarding how Zimbabweans should lobby the authorities to amend these laws.
